PEN@Hydropower Workshop: Event Recap and Resources Now Available

PEN@Hydropower successfully hosted its three-day international workshop in Malta, bringing together experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals from more than 30 countries. The event created a dynamic space for dialogue on the future of hydropower—addressing innovation, digitalisation, climate resilience, education, social acceptance, and gender equality.

Across keynote speeches, thematic workshops, round tables, and interactive sessions, participants explored how hydroppower can contribute to a flexible, secure, and sustainable energy transition. The workshop also highlighted the importance of integrating new technologies, advancing cross-sector collaboration, and strengthening professional development within the hydropower community.

A major focus of the event was on building shared understanding and fostering cooperation across the PEN@Hydropower network, with contributions from leading EU-funded initiatives, academic institutions, and industry representatives. The discussions and insights gathered in Malta will support ongoing research activities, future publications, and new collaborative actions across the network.

We are pleased to share that the video recap, webinar recordings, and presentation materials from the event are now available for anyone who wishes to revisit the sessions or catch up on the content.
