New Funding Calls Now Open: Mobility and Conference Support Grants

We are pleased to announce that we have opened two new funding calls under the COST Action CA21104 Pan-European Network for Sustainable Hydropower – PEN@Hydropower, offering concrete opportunities to strengthen collaboration, mobility, and visibility across Europe’s hydropower research community.

6th Call for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) and Virtual Mobilities (VMs)

The 6th call for STSMs and VMs (Grant Period 3) is now open. These grants support both physical and virtual research exchanges between institutions in different COST countries, enabling participants to gain access to expertise, data, methods, or infrastructure not available at their home institution. A total of six STSM grants and one to two VM grants are available. The application deadline is 15 March 2025, and funding decisions will be communicated by 15 April 2025. All proposed activities must contribute to the scientific objectives and Working Group priorities of PEN@Hydropower, as outlined in the Action’s Memorandum of Understanding.

5th Call for Conference and Dissemination Grants

We have also opened the 5th call for Inclusive Target Countries Conference Grants (ITCCGs), Dissemination Conference Grants (DCGs), and Young Researcher and Innovator Conference Grants (YRICGs). These grants support participation in high-quality international conferences to present individual research or to increase the visibility of PEN@Hydropower activities. The eligibility period runs from 1 February 2026 to 15 June 2026, with applications evaluated on a rolling basis throughout this timeframe.

We encourage all eligible participants to plan ahead, check alignment with the Action’s objectives, and take advantage of these opportunities to expand collaboration and impact in sustainable hydropower research.
